Kiralina sings in Westmount on Oct. 27
Egbert Gaye
When Kiralina takes to the stage at the Westmount Baptist Church on the evening of October 27, it will be another opportunity for Montrealers who love beautiful music to bask in the glory of one of our most pleasing entertainers.
Kiralina plans to make this concert a sensational session of worship and praise and homage to the many fans
who’ve lifted her career over the years. And she extends a warm invitation to all Montrealers to share in the moment.
The concert is part of her continuing quest to consolidate career and broaden her base that has made her one of the most recognizable singers in Montreal.
With her Diva status already well entrenched locally, the West Island-based songbird is steadily building a following overseas as she maintains a steady international profile.
From the Caribbean to Europe, Kiralina has been traveling incessantly, sharing her multi-layered repertoire with appreciative audiences far and wide.
But no matter how far she roams, Kiralina says home will always be home, and every performance in Montreal is an opportunity to either minister with her audience or share with them her wide-ranging playlist categorized by her GUCCCI tag which covers gospel, urban, classical, contemporary, country and inspirational music genres.
Fourteen years on the performance circuit, seven as a soloist, she says the excitement is still there every time she mounts the stage, but the challenge of building a successful career in Montreal is still as daunting as ever.
Much of it has to do with limited venues to perform and the limited budgets of promoters.
As challenging as it seems, Kiralina says there’re still reasons to believe that the scene in Montreal will improve, especially on the gospel circuit where churches, event promoters, performers have an obligation to get together support each other and grow.
In keeping with that mindset, she invites all of Montreal’s Gospel community to share an evening with her at Westmount Baptist Kingdom, 411 Rosyln Avenue, corner Sherbrooke Street Westmount, on Saturday, October 27, featuring appearances by Todd Smith and Mouvement. Event starts at 7 pm. For tickets and info (514) 937-1009 or (514) 293-5613 or www.westmountbaptist.org.
