Let us Esteem each other Higher than ourselves
Let us Esteem each other Higher than ourselves
May 28, 2010
“Be devoted to one another in brotherly love, honor one another above yourselves “…. Romans 12:10 "In humility consider others better than yourselves." (Philippians 2:3) With God all things are possible and even in the most difficult situations, I know that through Him, we can and will be able to improve our relationship with anyone, spouse, child, associate, neighbor or Superior. It obviously has to be our responsibility to begin by creating an atmosphere of peace in the relationships. Mostly I feel that it is sometimes very difficult to get along with certain people and I think that God has a sense of humor or rather a sense of purpose in setting us up to ensure that we fellowship and love people who are different from us. It truly becomes a matter of making an effort to understand one another. We have to try to meet each other’s needs, while emotionally filling voids and not always being on the receiving line. I truly want to enrich my life and the life of others as I traverse this earth. I want to be an overcomer and not render evil for evil, I want to love my enemies more than before and I want to see the best in the next person.
I want to forgive immediately and move on and not harbor grudges and become enslaved through anger and hatred. I purpose to overlook the hurts and anticipate the joy of relationship and friendship and thus be able to resolve conflict quicker. We can all make an effort as the Bible says, ….if at all possible, live peaceably with all men….Life is fleeting and fragile and we must fully embrace it as we embrace each other. I will pray for others and God will take care of me and direct my path. I therefore now thank God, for His love and providence in not leaving me alone but giving me family, friends, neighbors, prayer partners and leaders.
God I thank you for all those people you have placed in every area of my life. Help me to become a better person one that will fulfill a necessary role in mending and not breaking, lifting up and not crushing, building and not tearing down, loving and not hating, sowing peace and not discord. Help me to learn from each person. Lord I want to be willing to listen and obey and have a heart that is so full of compassion that I remind people of You. This I pray in your son’s precious Name.
